BlockEx partnership with McMurtry's Spéirling Fan Car

McMurtry Automotive’s innovative Spéirling fan car smashed the Hillclimb record in its competitive debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022.

Driven by former Formula 1 and LeMans driver Max Chilton, the all-electric Spéirling finished the grueling 1.16-mile Hillclimb in 39.08 seconds, breaking the previous record by 0.8 seconds. The achievement was the culmination of four years of hard work and invention by the team at McMurty.

The single-seat vehicle, based around the footprint of a 1960s Grand Prix car, employs a unique fan system to increase downforce and give the car a more powerful grip on the track. The purpose of the Spéirling is to herald a new era of electric track capability, hasten wider EV development and showcase McMurtry Automotive as EV innovators for road and track cars, the company said.

BlockEx is very proud to play a small part in this historic win as partners of Spéirling!
